That skinโฆdonโt forget that skin. As teachers, we wash our hands all the time -especially at the height of the โpanoramaโ. Taking care of ourselves includes taking care of our largest organ. I make my own body butter and always carry a small jar in my car, it keeps my hands moist which prevents cracks from all that hand washing and hand sanitizer.
Recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 cup avocado oil
1/2 cup shea butter or mango butter
1/2 cup cocoa butter
1/2 cup jojoba oil
1-2 Tbsp Vitamin E Oil
3-4 tsp arrowroot powder (depending on consistency you want)
essential oil of your choice (optional)
Procedure:
Melt the butters in a double boiler or saucepan over low heat.
Remove the melted butters from the heat and mix in the oils.
Pour the mixture into a large glass bowl and place in the freezer for about 1 hour until solid.
Once the mixture is solid, remove the bowl from the fridge and begin to whip the body butter with a hand mixer (if you have some fancy kitchen aid - knock yourself out). Add arrowroot powder 1 tsp at a time and continue to beat until the body butter is light and airy.
Then pipe (via corner of plastic sandwich bag) or scoop the body butter into a glass mason jar and store it in a cool, dark & dry place.
Health & Blessings
